I use Scrivener to outline my book. I use the Save the Cat Story Beats template for scrivener and combined that with my K.M. Weiland Outline your story template. Both templates are detailled and comprehensive.
You guys think I’m crazy right, to into this level of prepping. Well, I have once excuse and one good reason. My excuse, it’s Preptober, the month to prepare for Nanowrimo. The month you should spend preparing for writing the book.
My good reason? Well, every time I write a book as the words come into my head, I get stuck on the 60000 word count. So, if I outlined the book properly like so many writers recommend, I hope to finish the book.
Ok, Nanowrimo’s goal is to write 50.000 words. This one will be 116.946 words. If all my scenes will be the length I planned to write. So 2 months of writing? We will see.
