The month of October I’ll use to further outline the novel. I plan to outline each scene, all 43 of them. Furthermore I will take notes on setting the stage for each scene:
- Geographic Location and Natural Settings
- Houses, Buildings, and Rooms
- Character-Significant Objects
- Senses
- Etc.
I will try to document on these pages my research data and thus give the reader more insight and background I can’t tell in the story, because obviously too much background doesn’t bring the story further.
In November I plan to actually write the scenes. November is the traditional Nanowrimo-month, were many writers (try to) write a novel of at least 50.000 words. I will write 50.000 words alright, that won’t be the problem, but 43 scenes of at lease 2000 words is 86.000 words. I don’t think it’s realistic to write that in one month. So November and December to write the first draft.
In January 2024 I plan to edit the book. As a Dutchman my knowledge of the English language is not all that great, so I plan to use Grammarly and ProWritingAid to solve most of my grammar (and story) issues.
Finally I’ll publish the book on this website as well as on Storiesonline.net. When?
When I think it’s finished.
